Touring Morocco by Bike (19) : El-Jadida – Rabat

El-Jadida – Casblanca – Rabat

El-Jadida – Casblanca – Rabat

 El-Jadida – Casablanca – Rabat (193km)

This route is certainly the most boring one I have taken in Morocco.

Day 1 : El-Jadida – Camping International Hawai
A 15km broad road with many tall trees on roadside connecting El-Jadida and Azemmour. Azemmour was similar to El-Jadida, also a former Portuguese colonial town, someone told me the medina is worth a visit, and there is campsite near the beach. I didn’t stop there because it’s really too close to El-Jadida. ..... See More

Touring Morocco by Bike (18) : Essaouira – El Jadida

Essaouira – Safi – El Jadida

Essaouira – Safi – El Jadida

Essaouira – Safi – El Jadida (272km)

North of Essaouira is less remote compare to the South. Most of the area along the road are farmland, Safi and El Jadida are industrial cities, so it’s more difficult to do wild camping. The road along the coast ends at El Jadida, the ride is still pleasant relatively, then it goes more inland. These cities are all laid-back and nice to walk around, Safi is the ceramics center in Morocco, and don’t forget the cheap and delicious seafood. ..... See More

Marrakesh – Taroudant, via Tizi n’Test (225km)

Day 3
I enjoyed the spectacular mountain view while I was having breakfast. A impressive 10km shairpin road in these rolling hills leads to the Souss plain, on the other end of the plain is Anti Atlas, which is a range of 2000-3000m high. I was about 50km to Anti Atlas but with the same sea level as those peaks. Imagine you are at the peak in Hong Kong, and you are able to see from Stanley to Shenzhen, the view was unexceptionally broad. ..... See More

Marrakesh – Taroudant, via Tizi n’Test (225km)

This is the last time I cross the Atlas mountains.

This route I took via Taroudant is a mountain road and much longer, for some people it doesn’t make sense because there is a direct national road connecting Marrakesh to Agadir. Well~ Traveling by bicycle also doesn’t make sense in some way~ I have crossed quite many mountain passes in Morocco, Tizi n’Test is the most impressive among them, and the climbing experience is the most dramatic. I stayed in the Hotel at the pass at the New Year’s Eve. Stars were showing up after Dusk, the dim lights of village merged with the stars, I couldn’t even recognize where was sky, where was land and celebrated the 2017 new year in a completely silence night. ..... Touring Morocco by Bike (14) : Telouet – Marrakesh

Telouet – Marrakesh, via Tizi n’Tichka

 Telouet – Marrakesh, via Tizi n’Tichka (134km)

Road condition is getting worse after Telouet, there are many holes on this disrepair road, and only very small vehicles are able to pass. I planed to reach Marrakesh in one day, so I started before sunrise, the sun started rising when I was on the road and its warm sunlight bought me a vital morning. ..... See More
